Solsbury Solutions are delighted to be working with one of Southampton’s leading technology organisations to support them in recruiting an experienced and established Account Manager.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Create new opportunities in the general retail market with retail services and products and solutions, into existing customer base.
  • Generate sales of new projects, software and services.
  • Continue to manage service contract business with account and customer management, including working with business operations to report on performance.
  • Assist with the marketing strategy, including exhibitions, PR and trade advertising.
  • Assist with stands and exhibitions with recommendations.
  • Review products and market focus by researching into demographics and competitors, to gain a key understanding of how products will fit with the business model.
  • Adhere to the internal administrative reporting implemented by the sales team.
  • Attend sales meetings and cluster meetings.
  • Implement a clear strategy into each of the key accounts allocated.
  • Engage with customers to fully understand their requirements/expectations and to be able to communicate these to the internal technical team.
  • Participate in high level discussions, both internal and external, so that market offering can be improved and evolved to provide a platform for sustainable competitive advantage.
  • Be able to network and develop key relationships both internally and externally.
  • To act as a product leader within the company.
  • Prepare, review and distribute reports, feedback analysis and other marketing data to relevant key personnel. Conduct market research on a regular basis by completing on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to RFIs.
  • Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company and act as a spokesman when required at conferences.
  • Analyse potential partner relationships for products/categories.
  • Be active within the sales team and promote inter-departmental team working.
  • Co-ordination with marketing and sales to ensure delivery against revenue targets.
  • Look to over achieve on monthly and quarterly targets as the norm.
 
Essential Requirements:

The successful candidate must be able to:
  • Provide two year P60 showing proven track record of overachieving quota.
  • Demonstrate a solid career history, sales acumen and understanding of sales methodology
  • Demonstrate examples of building key accounts pipeline from scratch
 
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
 
  • Experience in the fuel and convenience sector (ideally more fuel orientated)
  • Understanding of the epos in the fuel and convenience sector
  • Understanding of key stake holders in the fuel sector from a UK and global stance
  • Knowledge of loyalty solutions
  • Understanding of card payments solutions  (app or hardware)
  • Experience in selling to tier 1 & 2 business' at multi-levels
  • Show strong presentation skills at all levels
  • Ability to disrupt a sales scale and challenge the norm
  • Ability to understand customer business needs to contribute to the customers team and business
  • Strong negotiating skills, understanding how to counter argue a rejection in a positive approach
  • Leading by example as team player willing to go the extra mile to help the business continue to succeed
  • Self-sufficient and able to resolve customer issues by navigating the departments and building relationships to deliver quick results
  • Proven track record of over achieving quota
  • Ability to manage a single account with long sales cycles
  • Willingness to travel the UK and Global when called upon
 
Working hours;
  • Monday to Friday 08:30-17:00 with one hour for lunch
